Questions
Q: How do I enter the contest for the original, signed artist’s drawing?
A: It’s easy. Just order any of the downloadable patterns from the Designs page and you will automatically be entered in the contest.
Q: When will the winners be announced and how will they be notified?
A: The winners will be notified by email within a few days after each holiday. Their names will be posted on the website shortly after that.
Q: Can I buy other patterns than the downloadable kind?
A: Yes, we sell over 50 different books with a variety of patterns and designs from several other genres including scroll saw, woodcarving and clip art. We have selected these books to sell based on the cross over nature of the content. Click here for BOOKS
Q: How do I download the patterns after purchasing them?
A: That’s easy: After your credit card has been approved, a screen will be displayed with a onetime clickable link that will let you automatically download the pattern to your PC.
Q: What happens if my computer crashes or my Internet connection gets somehow terminated in the middle of a download?
A: If this should happen to you, don’t worry. We have a record of your order on file and can email the pattern directly to you if necessary. Just send us an email with the order number and problem to:Customer Service
Q: Are the downloadable patterns available on CD or in printed form?
A: Yes, we can ship either type of hard copy by special request.
NOTE: If this request becomes substantial, we will create an order page for the shopping cart.
Q: How do I print the patterns once I receive them from you?
A: The patterns and designs will be in .PDF format so you will need to download Adobe Reader if you don’t already have a copy. You can then print directly from the Adobe Reader program. Adobe will also let you transfer images into paint programs or save as a file that can be edited. As an alternative, you can load PDF’s directly into a paint program such as Paintshop Pro.
If you absolutely cannot read PDF’s for some unknown reason, don’t panic. We can make special arrangements to email or send a CD of the patterns in either JPG or TIF format. A hard copy printout may be an alternate solution as well.

Q: Can I pay with a personal check or money order?
A: Yes.
(1) Fill your shopping cart with the items wanted.
(2) At checkout time, just fill in your shipping info and click on update
(3) Print the page (contains shopping cart and shipping info) and send with your check or Money Order made out to D.K.Hummel Company to the following address.
D.K.Hummel Company, PumpkinCarvingPatternDesign.com, 22396 Quay Lane, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.
NOTE: Downloadable patterns cannot be downloaded if paid by check. They will have to be emailed or shipped in CD format after payment arrives. Money Orders – next day shipping. Personal Checks – must clear bank before shipping, allow at least 2 weeks for process (see TERMS page for more info).
Pumpkins (this is the most asked pumpkin question of all time)
Q: How do I extend the life of my carved pumpkin?
A: We are not sure where this tip came from but it works great.
Saturate the inside and outside of your completed carving with WD40. (Look around at the hardware store for some brand X to save some money. Cheaper by the gallon don’t you know!) Yes you heard right. For some unknown reason this will make it last longer than anything we have ever tried. If anyone knows where this tip may have come from, please let us know via email and we will post it on the information page. Credit where credit is due. Oh and after using the lubricant, don’t bring the pumpkin into the house or use a candle in it until fully dried. It’s not really an indoor item after being bathed with this stuff. Read all the cautions on the label for more info. NOTE: Water with a little Bleach in it is also a good thing to use to slow down the mold problem.
